WPL MANAGER OF THE YEAR
CONGRATULATIONS NEV

Bangor City’s Welsh Cup hat-trick winning manager Neville Powell has capped a season of outstanding personal achievement by successfully achieving his UEFA A Coaching Licence. Football Association of Wales (FAW) Domestic Licensing criteria demand that coaches must be at least working towards this qualification, so again City has gone above and beyond what is required.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Nev has set his sights even higher by recently embarking on the UEFA Professional License course. The standard of this qualification is obvious when you hear that Nev’s fellow students include Chelsea Assistant Coach Ray Wilkins and Wigan boss Roberto Martinez.

Congratulating Neville, City Chairman Dilwyn Jones said, “Neville’s success is the icing on the cake for us as far as City’s season is concerned. We have enjoyed a very successful campaign both on and off the pitch. We are already looking forward to our European matches and what is likely to be an extremely competitive 2010 – 11 domestic season.”
“With Neville and his coaching team at the helm, we are confident that Bangor City will go from strength to strength”

HELP FOR HEROES

Welsh Cup winners Bangor City play Royal Welch Fusiliers in charity game for Help for Heroes. CELEBRATION and charity will be the joint theme of a very special football match being played at Bangor City’s Farrar Road ground tomorrow.

Neville Powell’s Citizens take on the Royal Welch Fusiliers in a game which has a double incentive. As well as forming a homecoming celebration for City’s third successive Welsh Cup triumph earlier this month, the match will also raise money for the Help for Heroes charity, an organisation formed to help those who have been wounded in Britain’s current conflicts.

Bangor plan to field the majority of the first team squad and a few of the successful reserves side, while the RWF are a regular footballing unit who play charity matches. It is also hoped there will be guest appearances by some well-known radio DJs and a penalty prize competition is planned.

“We want mums and dads, the youth of Bangor and all regular and new fans to come out and support this great event,” said City’s commercial manager Brian Harvey. “The Colonel of the North Wales Royal Welch Fusiliers has been invited as well as the Mayor. It has been a great season for Bangor City and this will be a brilliant way to round it off – a celebration of our success and the chance to raise money for a very worthy cause.”

Admittance charge is £5 for adults and £3 concessions and the match kicks off at 7pm.
Thanks Ish
Lets Join the Carnival

The BCFC squad, the Welsh Cup and hopefully the Reserves will take part in the Bangor Carnival 2010. Both the first team and the reserves will set off from Farrar Road on an open-top double decker bus, join the carnival procession at Sackville Road and then proceed down the High Street to the arena at Beach Road.

At the BCFC stalls supporters can join carnival goers and have their photos taken with the Welsh Cup and the players who made history recently by winning the famous trophy for the 3rd time running.
If that wasn’t enough then how about having some valuable football coaching sessions provided by the BCFC squad and try your luck at the 'Penalty Shoot Out’ competition!
Have a look at the BCFC merchandise available for purchase and chat with Club officials about the historical treble and their vision for the future of Bangor City Football Club!

The Bangor Carnival is set to return to the City due to the hard work of The People of Bangor Community Group and deserves our support so on 12th of June when the City of Bangor unites as a community, the Football Club can proudly say they were a big part of it. So, come on Bangor, how’s that for another great reason to hit the high street in great numbers and attend this memorable day in the history of the City!

HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT

Congratulations to Nev Powells City side who became the only North Wales side to lift three consecutive Welsh Cups in the last hundred years when they beat Port Talbot in the latest final tie in Llanelli.

A remarkable achievement which continues City's, and Nev's, passion for the Welsh Cup and opens the door to another European journey. Mirroring the side's formidable run in the Cup was the support provided by City fans who again made the arduous trip to the other end of the country and cheered the lads to victory - proud of the team, proud of the manager, proud of the fans and proud of our history.
