TRUE FANS KEEP FOOTBALL ALIVE

TRUE FANS KEEP FOOTBALL ALIVE

"Outside the Premiership there is only one group of people who can be relied upon in the bad times, who are there when things go belly up through incompetence, maladministration or the withdrawl of ITV Digital's promised millions. And they are the fans."

VICE CHAIRMAN'S BLOG

"Well if Richard Brunstrom can have one, why can’t I?" was Vice Chairman's view on the start of his own blog concerning everything to do with the Supporter's Association. Read the first installment HERE
MID SEASON SUPER DRAW

It's the SUPER DRAW time again and soon you will all receive our raffles to sell.

All members will receive a raffle book to sell and the members who regularly attend the SA meetings, Match Day volunteer's and the regular helpers will each receive an extra book which we really hope you will be kind enough to sell for us. If however you manage to sell more that two books and would like another book then please don't hesitate to contact me at match day's etc.

There is potential here to raise £2000.00 which would be great. However this total will be impossible without us all digging in together and working hard.

One idea was to sell raffles from places such as pubs, shops etc. Do any of you work in a pub or know a barman, shop keeper who may be willing to sell a couple of books for us ? Give me a ring if you do.
There is a poster advertising the SUPER DRAW so if you know of anywhere where we can display these then please get in touch. The poster can be viewed HERE

UNITED AND EVERTON SUPPORT BCFCSA
Thanks to Clayton Blackmore BCFCSA have been given a shirt from United Captain, Gary Neville, together with a certificate of authentication.

BCFCSA are also grateful for the support they have received from Everton FC, who have donated a signed football, seen right together with letter of authentication.

Both will be amongst the items available during the auction on the John Toshack night. Reds and Blues fans should start saving now for items that are bound to attract a lot of interest so if you want to try and put in a reserve bid then contact Nigel on:

THE FANS FORUM - A CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION

BCFCSA’s first Fans Forum is cause for celebration. That the event was well attended is one but also for the excellent contribution of the guest speakers that made the evening both informative and enjoyable and the healthy £500 it raised for the Supporters' Association.

Our thanks go to Paul, Robbo, Nev, Gwyn and David for generously giving their time, Gwawr, Sian and Cath for preparing the feast, Marc Hughes of Jones & Whitehead of Tregarth for use of the sound system, Bangor Rugby Club for the venue and those who attended for making it such a success.

Heartened by the success the Supporters' Association intends to hold a similar event later in the season and would welcome feedback on the event and how, if possible, it may be improved.

Please contact one of the committee members with your views or leave a comment below.

CLAYTON MAKES IT 300
Manager Clayton Blackmore became the SA’s 300th member and with the assistance of Assistant Manager, Steve Owen, all the City playing squad are now members of the Association.

Thanking Clayton and the squad for joining the SA Secretary Nigel Pickavance added “What makes things even better is the fact that we are now well past the 300 mark and 500 looks a realistic target”

Continuing success in fundraising has enabled the SA to make a donation of £1000 to Clayton for player sponsorship and again shows the growing importance of the SA to the club.

If you would like to help with the Association make contact with any of the Committee Members
CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Geraint Jones, BCFCSA Vice Chairman, on completing the Mon 10K race with a personal best time of 48 minutes 27 seconds at Mona yesterday and raised in the region of £260 for the Association's funds.

This was Geraints first 10K race under 50 minutes and he revealed that his strategy was - "I just went for it - I had considered holding back to combat the ascent on the last part of the course, but said sod it!" and consequently knocked 2 minutes 11 seconds off his personal best.
